Job summary

Wheeling Hospital, part of the WVU Health System, is seeking a Plumber to perform installation, maintenance and repair of hospital plumbing systems. This non-exempt role requires attention to safety and teamwork.

Under supervision, you’ll install and service pumps, pipes, valves and fixtures, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to reliable facility operations at our Wheeling, WV site. Candidates must hold WV plumber license, valid driver’s license, and pass a mechanical aptitude test.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • WV Plumbers License issued by West Virginia Department of Labor.
  • Mechanical aptitude test is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital plumbing systems.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Supervise maintenance staff during complex plumbing tasks.
  • Work in secured areas like medication rooms, reporting any issues as required.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as directed.
