Demonstrates thorough knowledge, repair, inspection, and use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in building maintenance and plant repairs. 2. Demonstrates thorough knowledge, repair, use, and the instruction in the use of measuring devices such as rulers, calipers, dividers, micrometers, gauges, etc. 3. Demonstrates ability to effectively use and instruct in the proper use of test equipment required for building repairs and maintenance (i.e. Volt/Ohm Meter, electronic receptacle analyzer, safety testing equipment, infrared devices, etc.). 4. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of repair procedures and practices related to carpentry, plumbing devices, electrical work, lock cylinders, painting, door hardware, drain blockage, and general building and machine repairs as monitored by managers and team leaders. 5. Demonstrates basic knowledge and proper compliance procedures of Plant Safety Practices (i.e. OSHA, NFPA 99, NEC, Hazardous Communication, Infectious Control, and JCAHO standards. 6. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of AC and DC voltage equipment and systems (i.e. compressors, refrigerants, evaporators, recovery units, etc.) as well as regulatory restrictions and proper safe work practices. 7. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of refrigeration equipment and systems (i.e. compressors, refrigerants, evaporators, recovery units, etc.) as well as regulatory restrictions and proper safe work practices. 8. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform and explain a wide variety of welding procedures (i.e. electrodes types and sizes, wire feed application, brazing technique, etc.). 9. Maintains documentation of services provided through time sheets, work orders, inventory sign-out sheets, and all regulatory compliance forms. 10. Performs cost effective repairs by evaluating the options available, considering total cost of repairs, and taking action appropriately. 11. Demonstrates knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the plumbing system (i.e. main valves, zone shut-off valves one-line diagrams, hot and cold domestic loops, and etc.). 12. Demonstrates knowledge of the operation and maintenance and repair of the nurse-call system (i.e. master stations, patient stations, pillow speakers, and etc.). 13. Demonstrates knowledge of the operation and maintenance of electrical distribution system (i.e. main switch-gear and sub-stations, transfer switches, one-line diagram, panel identification, and etc.). 14. Demonstrates knowledge of the operation and maintenance, repairs, and inspection of the patient care equipment. 15. Demonstrates a knowledge pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the pneumatic tube system (i.e. air handler units, t-stat calibration, air filtration, etc.). 16. Assures the technical competence in the Facilities Engineering field by attending in-services, reading trade literature, and schools. 17. Completes specific TPC training courses, as documented on training records. Participates in on‐the‐job training and attends all departmental in-service sessions. 18. Provides on-the-job training for lower level technicians in regards to systems, policies and procedures, safety precautions, and proper working practices. 19. Performs cost effective repairs by cost effective and efficient manner by evaluating the options available, considering total cost of repairs, and taking action appropriately. 20. Demonstrates knowledge of the Hospital’s cost reduction goals and promote ways to achieve cost saving recommendations in the Facilities Engineering department.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
