POSITION TITLE : Plumber

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilitied

DEPARTMENT: Operations Plant

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Job Specific Competencies:

Under limited supervision installs, repairs or modifies, maintaims plumbing/steam fitting, piping, plumbing fixtures, mschinery that uses water, gas,air, oxygen,vacuum, steam, steam condensation sewage, drainage systems etc and associated HVAC equipment and medical systems including autoclaves and sterlizers throughout the building,

Follows priority assigned by supervisor.

Typical Task Perform: include but not limited to tests, checks, repairs, installs, rebuilds, lubricates, cleans such things as fire protection, sprinkler lines, valves, fixtures, faucets, autoclaves, sterilizers, washing machines, air compressors, valves, dryers, piping, boilers, etc.

Uses a variety of hand and other tools including power drain cleaners, electrical drills, saws, soldering iron, pipe threading machines, etc.

Assists in special and routine inspections of facilities, new construction projects, recognizes equipment malfunction,risks and identifies deficiences and source of problem and refers to the Directors of Facilities/Operations and caries out approved repairs as above.

Maintains and implement standard practices, and applicable codes and regulations in the execution of assigned tasks and reports any deviation from standards to attention of the Directors of Facilites/Operations.

Plans installations by studying blueprints and work sketches to determine the kind and size of pipe, fittings, materials, etc. that are required.

Modifies drawings as changes are made to reflect As Built conditions.

Perform field lay outs and measurements, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs on plumbing and piping repairs and installations.

Perform the necessary preventive maintenance as per the Preventive Maintenance Program in compliance with regulatory requirements. Respond to requests for service and emergemcy calls

Perform regular daily/weekly rounds testing, and checking for proper operation of plumbing systems and water temperture .

Assist in the removal of snow from the exterior of the building. Possess a valid driver's license, and is able to operate an automobile.

ExpectationsIs knowledgeable of and adheres to all hospital policies regulatory and OSHA safety requirements and procedures including but not limited to: Attendance Management: Reports to work on time; is flexible when staffing needs warrant change; requests time off in a timely manner; consistently utilizes time clocks to document in and out shifts. Rules of Conduct: Respects the rights and property of others; does not engage in Harassment or Violence in the Workplace. HIPPA: Maintans confidentiality of patients, staff and visitors at all times. Dress Code: Complies with dress code policy and wears ID at all times.

Successfully completed previous years goals or performance improvement plan.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Is 100% compliant with 90 day and annual performance reviews of staff by due date.

Participates in Performance Improvement (PI) projects as set forth by manager.

Maintains current and valid credentials/license with relevant governing body and/or stays knowledgeable of all changes in federal, state, local and regulatory body laws, rules and regulations.

Is compliant with HIPPA rules and regulations and current patient safety standards.
