Job summary

N Elementshvac in Dalton, MA is seeking a licensed Plumber to install, repair, and maintain commercial and residential plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, waste, vent, and gas piping.

You will read blueprints, install piping with copper, PEX, CPVC, and other materials, test systems, and coordinate with HVAC and other trades.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a formal plumbing apprenticeship or trade school is highly preferred.
  • Valid Journeyman Plumber license.
  • Master Plumber license is preferred for lead positions.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install hydronic heating piping and domestic hot and cold water piping using copper, PEX, CPVC, PVC, cast iron, steel, and other approved piping materials.
  • Install sanitary drainage, waste, and vent piping systems to ensure proper flow and code compliance.
  • Install sinks, toilets, urinals, faucets, water heaters, floor drains, drinking fountains, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Connect plumbing systems to boilers, water heaters, pumps, backflow preventers, water softeners, and other plumbing equipment.
  • Perform pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, and startup procedures to verify system integrity and proper operation.
  • Fabrication, modification: measure, cut, thread, solder, braze, glue, press, groove, and assemble piping systems.
  • Fabricate offsets, pipe supports, and custom piping configurations to accommodate field conditions.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues and perform repairs or modifications to existing plumbing systems.
  • Interpret drawings to determine piping layouts, fixture locations, and installation requirements.
  • Ensure all installations comply with codes, local regulations, and company standards.
  • Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, and other trades to minimize conflicts.

Job description

The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and residential plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, waste, vent, and gas piping systems. This role involves reading blueprints, assembling and installing piping systems, fixtures, and plumbing equipment while ensuring compliance with applicable plumbing codes, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards. The position requires working with a variety of materials and tools in new construction, renovations, and service environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install hydronic heating piping and domestic hot and cold water piping using copper, PEX, CPVC, PVC, cast iron, steel, and other approved piping materials.
  • Install sanitary drainage, waste, and vent piping systems to ensure proper flow and code compliance.
  • Install sinks, toilets, urinals, faucets, water heaters, floor drains, drinking fountains, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Connect plumbing systems to boilers, water heaters, pumps, backflow preventers, water softeners, and other plumbing equipment.
  • Perform pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, and startup procedures to verify system integrity and proper operation.
  • Fabrication & Modification

  • Interpret architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and structural drawings to determine piping layouts, fixture locations, and installation requirements.
  • Ensure all installations comply with applicable plumbing codes, local building regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Work closely with HVAC, electrical, general contractors, and other trades to ensure proper installation sequencing and minimize conflicts.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a formal plumbing apprenticeship or trade school is highly preferred.
  • Licensing:
    • Valid Journeyman Plumber license.
    • Master Plumber license is preferred for lead positions.
  • Certifications:
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, isometric diagrams, specifications,
    and construction documents.
  • Proficient with pipe cutters, threaders, soldering and brazing equipment, press
    tools, groove machines, drain cleaning equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Strong math skills for measuring, calculating pipe lengths, elevations, slopes,
    offsets, and material quantities.
  • Understanding of plumbing systems, water distribution, drainage systems, venting
    principles, and fixture installation techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work from scaffolding or lifts, and perform
    work in crawlspaces, ceilings, trenches, and confined spaces.
  • Strict adherence to OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, trench safety, confined
    space procedures, and company safety policies.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
