Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, MN is seeking a skilled Plumber for 1st shift to support manufacturing reliability. You will install, maintain, and repair facility plumbing systems, including fixtures, water and waste lines, and utilities needed for operation of equipment.

The role requires at least four years of plumbing experience, knowledge of codes, and the ability to read P&ID drawings. You will collaborate with Equipment Engineers and other technicians to keep operations uninterrupted.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years' experience as a plumber.
• Proficient in installation of plumbing fixtures, equipment, and various piping types.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and industry best practices.
• Hands-on experience with piping installation, system maintenance, component replacement, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair facility plumbing systems including fixtures, water and waste lines, and utilities for manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to maintenance and repair requests to ensure uninterrupted operation of plumbing systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair installed equipment using manuals, technical expertise, and collaboration with other technicians.

• Develop material take-offs and place, track, and manage orders for piping projects.
• Support company initiatives related to quality, safety, environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield improvement, and cost containment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.

Job Title Plumber - 1st Shift Location: Bloomington, MN | On-Site Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to support the reliability and performance of our manufacturing facilities. In this role, you'll maintain and install critical Plumbing systems that enable uninterrupted operations within the factory and office areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair facility plumbing systems including fixtures, water, and waste lines, and utilities needed for operation of manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to maintenance and repair requests to ensure uninterrupted operation of Plumbing systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair installed equipment using manuals, technical expertise, and collaboration with other technicians.
• Support Equipment Engineers by contributing to specifications for plumbing system installation and maintenance.
• Develop material take-offs and place, track, and manage orders for piping projects.
• Support company initiatives related to quality, safety, environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield improvement, and cost containment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of four years' experience as a plumber.
• Proficient in installation of Plumbing fixtures, equipment, and a variety of supply and waste piping types.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and industry best practices.
• Hands-on experience with piping installation, system maintenance, component replacement, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic technical calculations.
• Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management and respiratory protection requirements.
• Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 60 lbs., and work at heights up to 20 feet.

Preferred

• Journeyman Plumber or Pipe Fitter status
• Experience with Hazardous Chemical Distribution and Waste Piping Systems
• Experience with Clean Room Protocol to include Gowning and Cleaning Procedures.
• Experience in cleanroom environments, with demonstrated compliance to gowning, de-gowning, and contamination control protocols.
• Facilities and building maintenance knowledge
• Willingness to learn Pipe Fitter trade

What We Offer

• Salary: $30 - $56 hourly (good-faith estimate)
