Job summary

OpenAI is seeking product-minded engineers to build the systems behind plugins and improve how models use them. You will design APIs, SDKs, and services that developers use to extend ChatGPT and Codex, and you’ll create intuitive experiences so users can discover, install, and use plugins to get more done.

You will collaborate across engineering, Product, Research, Security, and Trust & Safety to scale plugin infrastructure, improve reliability, and deliver safe, high-quality execution.

Qualifications

Experience designing APIs and SDKs.
Strong understanding of identity and permissions.
Ability to translate complex ideas into intuitive product features.
Experience working with AI systems and model–tool interactions.
Collaborative work across engineering, product, and research teams.

Responsibilities

Design and ship APIs, SDKs, and services for plugin extensions.
Build intuitive experiences to help users discover, install, and use plugins.
Improve plugin reliability and model integration across products.
Collaborate across engineering, Product, Research, Security, and Trust & Safety to scale plugin infrastructure.
