Job summary

East Penn Manufacturing seeks a seasoned PLM Solution Architect to lead the design, deployment, and governance of PLM systems across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT. You will drive digital engineering initiatives to support the full product lifecycle from concept through retirement.

The role partners with Product Management, Operations, and Data Governance to standardize processes, optimize change management, and deliver scalable PLM solutions enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• Typically, with more than 10 years of Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of product development processes and engineering change management.
• Experience working in manufacturing and product development environments preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner and architect of the PLM ecosystem.
• Define and maintain PLM strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and IT to align PLM capabilities with business objectives.
• Lead enterprise PLM implementations, upgrades, migrations, and optimization initiatives.
• Design and maintain system architectures supporting product structure, BOM, document management, change management, and configuration management.
• Define integration strategies between PLM and ERP/MES/CAD/CRM and data warehouses.
• Develop and maintain PLM data models, workflows, security, and business rules.
• Support engineering change management processes, including change requests and releases.
• Establish data governance practices for accuracy, consistency, traceability and regulatory compliance.

Overview

East Penn is currently seeking a PLM Solution Architect who will be responsible for the strategic design, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and associated business processes. This role partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, IT, and Product Management to develop scalable digital solutions that support the complete product lifecycle from concept and development through production, service, and retirement.

The position serves as the technical authority for PLM architecture, data governance, system integration, and digital engineering transformation initiatives across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner and architect of the company's PLM ecosystem.
• Define and maintain PLM strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and IT to align PLM capabilities with business objectives.
• Lead enterprise PLM implementations, upgrades, migrations, and optimization initiatives.
• Design and maintain system architectures supporting product structure, bills of material, document management, change management, and configuration management.
• Define integration strategies between PLM and enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, CAD, CRM, quality management systems, and data warehouses.
• Develop and maintain PLM data models, workflows, security structures, and business rules.
• Support engineering change management processes, including change requests, change orders, approvals, and release procedures.
• Establish data governance practices that ensure accuracy, consistency, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies that enhance digital product development capabilities.
• Lead requirements gathering and solution design activities for new PLM functionality.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, training materials, and project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Support business process standardization across engineering and product development organizations.
• Provide guidance to technical teams, business analysts, administrators, and application developers.
• Participate in regular project reviews and digital transformation initiatives.
• Maintain and protect the confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Perform other duties that become essential to the position.
