Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented parts data specialist to support product development teams by organizing part data within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. You will drive part reuse and participate in the part approval process to improve data accuracy and accessibility.

Applicants should have an Associate Degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience with at least three years in engineering, plus experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and PLM

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or equivalent with 3+ years in an engineering environment
• Experience with mechanical CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)
• Experience in engineering, product development, document, or process management
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret data sheets, technical journals, and manuals
• Ability to present information and training to user groups
• Experience working with PLM systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Participate in implementing a parts management strategy within Vermeer’s PLM environment
• Drive and enforce part naming and description standards, SME for part naming, revisioning, classifications, and attributes
• Define, maintain, support, improve, and participate in part request and approval processes
• Conduct CAD model optimization and set up for library parts
• Participate in efforts to consolidate part numbers and increase part reuse
• Collaborate with engineers during component selection
• Support other groups requiring specialized part libraries
• Collaborate with procurement regarding sourcing and vendor selections
• Promote user adoption and user experience of the PLM platform through training and support
• Participate in platform system testing and evaluation
