Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an on-site Automation Technologist in Batavia, IL to support PLCs, servos, and HMI-based control systems. Relocation assistance is mentioned and 40-mile radius applies.

The role requires hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of control wiring, drives, encoders, and related components, with a focus on maintaining production equipment and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and servo systems.
Understanding of electrical schematics and control wiring.
Experience troubleshooting analog and digital controls and PLCs/HMI interfaces.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and related wiring.
Troubleshoot analog/digital controls with 480V 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
Maintain and troubleshoot encoders, load cells, and other feedback devices.
Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces; modify ladder logic as needed.
Diagnose communications protocols including Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet.
Perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors and production equipment.
