Job summary
Hydro Extrusions is seeking an entry‑level PLC maintenance technician to assist with installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of PLCs and automation equipment at our Cressona, PA facility. The role supports senior technicians and involves basic wiring, diagnostics, and documentation.
Rotating night shift, permanent position, with opportunities to grow in a global aluminium and renewable energy company known for safety and a collaborative workplace.
Qualifications
- 0-5 years of experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Basic understanding of ladder logic troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
- Knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
- Familiarity with digital and analog I/O configuration and verification.
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication networks and PLC-to-device communications.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related automation equipment.
- Basic wiring, PLC, and HMI setup.
- Assist in wiring and installation of PLC hardware.
- Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams.
- Support senior technicians in system testing and commissioning.
- Maintain documentation and logs of work performed.
- Configure, scale, and troubleshoot analog signals and instrumentation.
- Perform basic PLC program uploads, downloads, and online monitoring.
- Use multimeters and basic electrical testing equipment.
