Job summary

Hydro Extrusions in Cressona, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support PLC-controlled equipment on a rotating night shift. You will assist with installation, wiring, diagnostics, and commissioning of automation systems, while maintaining thorough equipment documentation and logs.

The role emphasizes ladder logic basics, sensor/transmitter knowledge, and PLC-to-device communications, with opportunities to grow in a strong manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Basic understanding of ladder logic troubleshooting and fault isolation.
• Knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
• Familiarity with digital and analog I/O configuration and verification.
• Basic knowledge of industrial communication networks and PLC-to-device communications

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of PLCs and automation equipment.
• Basic wiring, PLC, and HMI setup.
• Assist in wiring and installation of PLC hardware.
• Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams.
• Support senior technicians in system testing and commissioning.
• Maintain documentation and logs of work performed.
• Configure, scale, and troubleshoot analog signals and instrumentation.
• Perform basic PLC program uploads, downloads, and online monitoring.
• Use multimeters and basic electrical testing equipment.

What you will be doing

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related automation equipment.
• Basic wiring, PLC, and HMI setup.
• Assist in wiring and installation of PLC hardware.
• Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams.
• Support senior technicians in system testing and commissioning.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

• 0-5 years of experiencetroubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Basic understanding of ladder logic troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
• Knowledge of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
• Familiarity with digital and analog I/O configuration and verification.
• Basic knowledge of industrial communication networks and PLC-to-device communications

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience using Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 software or similar PLC programming platforms.
• Understanding of industrial control panel components including relays, contactors, and terminal blocks
• Ability to interpret PLC fault codes and assist in troubleshooting automation systems.
