Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking a PLC Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, drives, and automated equipment on a Dunkirk, NY production floor. The role is in-person with a contract-to-hire pathway and overtime opportunities.

You will work with a skilled maintenance team, read schematics, and support installation, startup, and testing of control systems while complying with OSHA and GMP standards. Fluency in English, plus Spanish, is a plus.

Qualifications

• Heavy industrial manufacturing background required; food processing experience a plus.
• 5+ years of industrial electrical, controls, automation, or troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and automated equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose control faults.
• Certificate in industrial electrical technology, automation, or mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and comfort working under pressure.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial control systems.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair VFDs, motor controls, sensors, relays, and control components.
• Diagnose electrical and controls faults, find root causes, and cut downtime.
• Maintain and repair automated production and packaging equipment.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to solve equipment issues.
• Support installation, startup, testing, and modification of control systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial controls.
• Work with maintenance and production to fix recurring problems and improve reliability.
• Document repairs and keep the team informed on equipment issues.
• Follow OSHA and GMP safety standards.

PLC Maintenance Technician
Dunkirk, NY | In-Person | $25 - $36 /hr | Contract-to-Hire

A well established and growing food manufacturing company with a team that cares about their people is hiring a PLC & Controls Maintenance Technician to keep a fast-paced production floor running. You will troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, drives, and automated equipment alongside a skilled maintenance team. Schedule is Monday to Friday starting at 8:00 AM, with consistent overtime into the evening and Saturday afternoon hours.
