Job summary

MOHR Talent in Dunkirk, NY is hiring a PLC & Controls Maintenance Technician to keep a fast-paced production line running. You will troubleshoot and maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs, drives, and automated equipment as part of a skilled maintenance team.

The role offers Monday–Friday start 8:00 AM with overtime into the evening and Saturdays; contract-to-hire, comprehensive benefits, and growth in a stable, growing food manufacturing company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial electrical, controls, automation, or troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and automated equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose control faults.
• Certificate in industrial electrical technology, automation, or mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• Heavy industrial manufacturing background with food processing experience a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and control systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair VFDs, motor controls, sensors, relays, and control components
• Diagnose electrical and controls faults, find root causes, and cut downtime
• Maintain and repair automated production and packaging equipment
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to solve equipment issues
• Support installation, startup, testing, and modification of control systems
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial controls
• Work with maintenance and production to fix recurring problems and improve reliability
• Document repairs and keep the team informed on equipment issues
• Follow OSHA and GMP safety standards

Job description

A well established and growing food manufacturing company with a team that cares about their people is hiring a PLC & Controls Maintenance Technician to keep a fast-paced production floor running. You will troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, drives, and automated equipment alongside a skilled maintenance team. Schedule is Monday to Friday starting at 8:00 AM, with consistent overtime into the evening and Saturday afternoon hours.

What You’ll Do:

What You Bring:

• Heavy industrial manufacturing background required, and food processing experience is a plus
• 5+ years of industrial electrical, controls, automation, or troubleshooting experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and automated equipment
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose control faults
• Certificate in industrial electrical technology, automation, or mechatronics, or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and comfort working under pressure
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
