What you'll tackle
  • PLC/HMI mastery - Engineer, modify, and sustain Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix programs in Studio 5000; create ISA-101-aligned HMIs (FactoryTalk View, InTouch, Red Lion, Ignition, or similar).
  • Drives expertise - Commission, tune, integrate, and troubleshoot VFDs.
  • Standards that scale - Build robust, modular logic using UDTs and AOIs; maintain PLC backups, wiring schematics, network drawings, and change logs.
  • Root-cause rigor - Lead problem investigations and implement durable corrective actions via controls improvements.
  • SCADA leadership - Architect and deploy plant-wide SCADA: dashboards, historian integration, and reliable data acquisition.
  • Data you can trust - Define data models and tag naming conventions; transform machine behavior into dashboards, trends, and reports that drive decisions.
  • Connected systems - Configure PLC-to-SCADA communication, OPC UA connections, and historian structures.
  • Industrial networking - Shape Ethernet/IP topologies with managed switches and segmentation practices that fit plant needs.
  • Governance - Act as the go-to technical resource for SCADA/data decisions; ensure controlled, well-documented changes.
  • Project ownership - Lead upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment installations; write controls specifications; review vendor designs for compliance; manage timelines, budgets, and integration plans; support ROI and cost-benefit cases.
  • Operations partnership - Be the escalation point for controls downtime; build Maintenance troubleshooting capability; author standard work, guides, and training; support CI for safety, quality, uptime, throughput, and scrap.
  • Safety & cybersecurity - Ensure compliance with electrical safety and applicable standards; support arc-flash documentation, safe work policies, energy isolation; contribute to controls standards, cybersecurity, and change management.
