externalhaincareersite is seeking a Controls Technician to design, write, test, and maintain software that automates production equipment in a GMP food manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes safety, quality and reliability.

You will troubleshoot industrial equipment, modify PLC programs, update schematics, calibrate instruments, and support new project installs while meeting tight deadlines and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience in a Maintenance Electrical Technician role in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering controls or mechatronics engineering preferred.
• Experience with a CMMS / CAM software is required.
• Project management experience is desired.
• Experience in a food-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems on production equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Create, adjust and modify PLC programs on production equipment; test instrumentation and control systems.
• Update blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams as needed.
• Calibrate and repair electronic instruments and coding on production equipment.
• Repair, upgrade and maintain PLCs, drives, servo motors, and robots.
• Assist with PMs and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life.
