Flex-N-Gate in Grand Rapids, MI, is offering a PLC/Controls Technician Apprenticeship Program designed to develop skilled trades professionals through structured on-the-job learning and related classroom instruction. The five-year program combines hands-on experience with assessments such as ACCUPLACER and a 1,000-hour probationary period, preparing you to work safely with motors, drives and PLC systems.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and meet attendance and clean disciplinary

Qualifications

Electrical safety, schematic reading, industrial wiring, panel components and systematic circuit troubleshooting.
Diagnose motors, drives, sensors, instrumentation, input/output signals and automated equipment under supervision.
Build skills in PLC hardware, ladder logic, HMI systems, industrial networks and robotics.
Help restore equipment safely and maintain accurate backups, change documentation and controls records.
