PLC Controls Technician - Brooklyn, NY

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Schedule: Day shift, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday

Overview

We're seeking a skilled PLC Controls Technician to support automation equipment across a commercial kitchen facility, with a primary focus on an ILPRA tray sealing machine running Mitsubishi controls and a GSI labeling/printing system.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Mitsubishi PLC-controlled automation equipment, primarily the ILPRA tray sealing machine
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls issues to minimize equipment downtime
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and equipment status
• Collaborate with the senior electrical technician and broader maintenance team
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on site
• Support kitchen equipment/appliance repair as needed (not required, but valued)

Requirements

• Strong Mitsubishi PLC programming and troubleshooting experience — core requirement
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Prior experience in a food production, commercial kitchen, or industrial/manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working with specialty/niche industrial packaging equipment
• Team-oriented, proactive, strong culture fit
