Job summary

Vanderlande seeks a Project Leader Engineer II (PLC/Controls) to guide cross-functional teams in transforming sold projects into high-performing, fully realized systems. Location options include Marietta, GA, or remote within the USA, with travel up to 80%.

You will serve as the technical authority, coordinating between engineering, customers, and internal stakeholders. The role demands a proactive, hands-on leader with strong planning, budgeting, and safety coordination skills to ensure on-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience on large-scale material handling systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% or as required by project milestones.
• Proactive, hands-on, and self-directed work style.
• Strong problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
• Ability to balance quality, schedule, cost, scope, and resources.
• Experience leading specialized teams on complex technical projects.
• Ability to mentor and support team members.
• Knowledge of mechanical installation and design standards; familiarity with electrical installation is a plus.
• Working knowledge of controls engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through customer handover, ensuring technical execution and project success.
• Oversee system design activities including hardware, network, software, electrical install, integration, testing.
• Develop and maintain detailed engineering plans and schedules; monitor progress with updates.
• Create and maintain functional specifications and test plans, manage documentation control.
• Provide progress reports highlighting risks, issues, and opportunities to project leadership.
• Monitor engineering budgets and coordinate safety analyses during engineering phase.
