Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Leader Engineer II (PLC/Controls) to lead cross-functional teams from concept to customer handover, ensuring technical excellence and strong financial performance. You will oversee system design, hardware, software, installation, and testing, while coordinating with stakeholders and managing documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in complex material handling systems and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing and managing highly complex and medium-scale material handling systems.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with integration and configuration management.
• Willing and able to travel up to 25%.
• Experience utilizing MS Project, Primavera, or other scheduling software.
• Knowledge of (mechanical) engineering theories and principles.
• Familiar with Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software (AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through customer handover, ensuring strong technical execution and overall project success.
• Oversee complete system design activities, including hardware systems, network architecture, software development, electrical installation, component integration, commissioning, and testing.
• Ensure system functionality, technical accuracy, and quality across all material handling solutions.
• Develop and maintain detailed engineering project plans and schedules; monitor progress and provide regular updates.
• Coordinate engineering activities with Project Manager, Site Manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders; ensure aligned execution.
• Create and maintain functional system specifications, interface specifications, and high-level test plans; manage documentation control and reporting.
• Provide clear progress reports - risks, issues, and opportunities - to Project Manager and Engineering Manager.
• Monitor and control engineering budgets; coordinate safety analyses during engineering phase.
