Talos Automation in Detroit, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer to grow with a long-term role in the Electrical and Controls department. You will review and develop all aspects of electrical control systems and support PLC hardware and software.

Responsibilities include software design and development for PLC interfaces (Siemens S7/TIA, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5/500/Studio 5000), creating maintainable code, and collaborating with project managers. Travel 20–40% to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in automation control systems.
• Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix 5, 500, Studio 5000 or Siemens S7, S7F, TIA Portal.
• Ability to travel 20–40% to customer sites.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC equipment control interfaces.
• Write transparent, modular, maintainable code from scratch.
• Attend daily reviews with Project Managers to ensure method adherence.
• Build foundational engineering concepts to grow technically.
• Document equipment function and interconnectivity for efficient control systems.
