Akkodis is looking for a PLC Controls Engineer in Mason, OH, for a contract role. This position involves leading PLC programming and commissioning for automated systems while managing project timelines and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Akkodis is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Mason, OH. You will lead PLC programming and commissioning efforts, while managing project scope, schedules, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful system delivery.
Rate Range: $41/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
PLC Controls Engineer job responsibilities include:
Lead the design, programming, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems for automated material handling equipment.
Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful and timely delivery.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test plans and QA/QC validations.
Execute system testing (BUAT/UAT/FAT) and provide on-site commissioning and customer training.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to align on project requirements and resolve technical issues.
Integrate and configure drives, HMIs, scanners, and vision systems using tools like Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, and AutoCAD Electrical.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
Minimum of 4 years in a control engineering role, specifically with warehouse automation or material handling systems.
Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff) and HMI system design.
Strong project planning, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills in fast-paced environments.
