Job description

Akkodis is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Mason, OH. You will lead PLC programming and commissioning efforts, while managing project scope, schedules, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful system delivery.

Rate Range: $41/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

PLC Controls Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, programming, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems for automated material handling equipment.

  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful and timely delivery.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test plans and QA/QC validations.

  • Execute system testing (BUAT/UAT/FAT) and provide on-site commissioning and customer training.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to align on project requirements and resolve technical issues.

  • Integrate and configure drives, HMIs, scanners, and vision systems using tools like Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, and AutoCAD Electrical.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.

  • Minimum of 4 years in a control engineering role, specifically with warehouse automation or material handling systems.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff) and HMI system design.

  • Strong project planning, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills in fast-paced environments.

Pay Details: $41.00 to $45.00 per hour
