Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) in Western Massachusetts is seeking a Playgroup Assistant for the Early Intervention program. You will supervise and engage young children during playgroups, helping ensure a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for families.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year in early childhood or behavior management. The schedule is 9am-1pm, Wednesday to Friday, with a pay rate of $21.00 per hour and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in an early childhood setting preferred.
• Minimum of one year of behavior management experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and child engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and engage enrolled children during playgroups under the direction of the Playgroup Leader.
• Assist with the setup and cleanup of playgroup activities before and after each session.
• Maintain a clean, organized environment in accordance with EEC cleaning and sanitization standards.
• Change diapers and attend to the personal care needs of children as required.
• Read to children and participate in age-appropriate activities that support learning and development.
• Support a positive, welcoming atmosphere for children and families participating in the program.
