Job summary

The Washington International School is seeking a Primary School Playground Monitor to supervise students on the playground and assist with other tasks. The role runs daily from 9:30 AM to 3:15 PM (3.75 hours).

You will work with the PS Principal and Assistants to maintain a safe, inclusive outdoor environment and respond quickly to student needs. Responsibilities include supervising play, enforcing rules, encouraging inclusive activities, accompanying injured students to the nurse, and

Qualifications

• Experience working with children from Preschool to grade 5 in outdoor programs preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with staff to supervise outdoor activities.
• Strong communication with children and adults, in English.
• Self-motivation and responsibility with minimal supervision.
• French and/or Spanish language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students on the playground with focus on safe, inclusive play.
• Maintain an orderly playground environment and enforce school rules.
• Encourage inclusive play through varied strategies.
• Bring students to the nurse when they are hurt.
• Report student issues to teachers as necessary.
