Job summary

Buckeye Union School District is seeking a School Playground Monitor for our Valley View Charter Montessori School in El Dorado Hills, CA. The role runs 5 hours per day during the school year, typically 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

The monitor will supervise recess, enforce playground rules, mediate conflicts, and provide basic first aid when needed. Strong communication and safety-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with students, staff and parents.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during recess and outdoor activities.
• Enforce playground rules to ensure safety.
• Help mediate conflicts and promote positive behavior.
• Respond to injuries with basic first aid and notify staff as needed.
• Coordinate with teachers and administration as issues arise.
