The Players Assistantperforms a variety of tasks on the golf course while operating a golf cart, such as overseeing and controlling the flow of golf traffic, reporting cart breakdowns, hazardous conditions and other pertinent incidents using a cell phone. Responds to emergencies and accidents on the golf course and administers first aid and/or CPR as needed. May perform starter duties at the pro shop’s starter desk to maintain golfer’s tee times on a timely basis.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Operates a utility golf cart and continuously monitors, oversees and controls the flow of golf traffic on the course to ensure a reasonable speed of play.
• Identifies, reduces and/or eliminates bottlenecks that cause slow play.
• Provides guests and visitors with premium level customer service, courtesy and enthusiasm expected from a world-class resort in accordance with the Company’s Customer Service handbook.
• Uses a two-way radio to report all hazardous or dangerous conditions and other pertinent incidents to the Golf Pro Shop.
• Reports breakdown of golf cart to the Cart Barn and reports mechanical breakdowns to Golf Maintenance Department mechanics.
• Renders first aid and/or CPR as necessary.
• Observes all house rules and regulations, including but not limited to safety regulations, following follows safe practices in the performance of assigned tasks and practicing good housekeeping in assigned work areas.

Other Duties:

• Performs starter duties at the pro shop’s starter’s desk and ensures that golfers’ tee times are maintained on a timely basis.

Physical Requirements/Environment:

Continuously and regularly requires sitting and ability to operate a golf cart on uneven golf course terrain, eye-hand-foot coordination; close mental and visual attention, concentration and alertness, exercising good judgement is a continuous requirement.

Frequently requires standing, walking, operating a two-way radio, reaching, handling, talking and listening to co-workers and general public, writing and composing written language (reports), exposure to heat, sunlight, golf balls in play and other golf course conditions.

Occasionally requires bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting/carrying of up to 35 lbs. (may sometimes be required to assist golfers with placing of full set of golf clubs in golf bag onto golf carts), rendering emergency assistance to guests (administering first-aid, CPR, other injured guests - may require helping guests onto golf carts, stretchers, etc.), exposure to chemicals, fertilizers and wet environmental working conditions.

Visual capabilities required: good to excellent vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, color vision.

Job requires approximately 7½ hours outdoors and ½ hour indoors.
