Job summary

YMCA of Muncie in Yorktown, IN is seeking a part-time Childwatch/Zone Staff to provide developmentally appropriate activities and a safe, nurturing environment for children.

You will interact with children at eye level, maintain a clean, organized space, and build positive relationships with families and volunteers while upholding YMCA policies and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y, contributing to member retention.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the environment.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members and helps members connect with one another and the Y.
• Welcomes, connects, and supports members; invites involvement and giving back to the community.
• Handles and resolves concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• Maintain a safe environment and visually monitor all children in assigned areas.
• Present a professional manner and conduct through a neat and clean appearance, following the YMCA dress code.
• Interact with children at their eye-level, showing a warm, caring, and friendly attitude.
• Respect the confidentiality of all information concerning parents, children, and staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff.
• Supports Annual Campaign and other fund raising activities.
• Upholds guidelines as outlines in the Employee Handbook of the Association.
• Attends designated trainings and staff meetings.

The Childwatch/Zone at the YMCA of Muncie maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Childwatch/Zone Staff will provide children with developmentally appropriate activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative growth in a safe and nurturing environment.
