Job summary

Ellie Mental Health in Grapevine, TX is seeking a licensed or pre-licensed Play Therapist to support children ages 3-12. The role emphasizes play therapy techniques, collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams, and a clinician-centered culture that values flexible scheduling and comprehensive administrative support.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, manage a caseload, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a behavioral science or related field.
• Pre-licensed: LPC-Associate, LMSW, LMFT-Associate - must have at least 2 years of experience and be actively pursuing licensure.
• Fully licensed: LPC, LCSW, LMFT (with or without an existing caseload).
• 1-2 years of experience providing individual therapy to children ages 3-12.
• Strong knowledge of play therapy techniques, approaches, and methodologies.
• Ability to assess and treat children's mental health needs using developmentally appropriate interventions.

Responsibilities

• Complete diagnostic assessments using the DSM-5.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain a caseload of 27+ sessions/week (for full-time clinicians).
• Provide child-centered, creative, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Work flexible hours - including mornings, evenings, and weekends to meet community needs.
• Collaborate with families, school staff, medical providers, and Ellie team members.
• Attend clinical meetings and trainings.
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Use EHR systems and office technology proficiently.

Required Degrees & Licensure

• Master's degree in a behavioral science or related field (from an accredited institution)
• Pre-licensed: LPC-Associate, LMSW, LMFT-Associate
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience and be actively pursuing licensure
• Fully licensed: LPC, LCSW, LMFT (with or without an existing caseload)

Required Experience & Skills

• 1-2 years of experience providing individual therapy to children ages 3-12
• Strong knowledge of play therapy techniques, approaches, and methodologies
• Ability to assess and treat children's mental health needs using developmentally appropriate interventions

Preferred Certifications / Training

• Certified Play Therapist (CPT)
• Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT)
• Filial Therapy or Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
• Training in Music, Art, or Expressive Arts Therapy

Key Responsibilities

• Complete diagnostic assessments using the DSM-5
