Job summary

Open Door Preschool in Austin is seeking a compassionate Three-Year-Old Teacher to nurture curiosity and social-emotional growth through play-based learning in an accredited program. You will foster a warm, inclusive classroom where children feel valued and supported as active learners.

Responsibilities include planning child-led activities, observing and documenting development, collaborating with co-teachers, and maintaining strong family partnerships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field, or currently pursuing one.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with toddlers in play-based settings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reflective teaching.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where children feel respected, supported, and empowered.
• Plan and implement child-led, play-based experiences that promote exploration, problem-solving, creativity, and independence.
• Support social-emotional learning in daily routines and play.
• Observe, document, and reflect on children’s development to inform curriculum and family communication.
• Collaborate with co-teachers to design engaging, responsive learning experiences aligned with children’s interests.
• Build strong relationships with families through open communication and partnership.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain NAEYC accreditation standards.
