Job summary

Nebula in El Segundo is hiring to own and operate the services behind our customer-facing web app and internal platform. You’ll build typed services in TypeScript and Python, ensure uptime across a self-hosted Kubernetes stack, and support the Vue 3 frontend with robust data models in MongoDB.

You’ll own reliability end-to-end—from tests and incidents to delivery pipelines—while collaborating with AI tooling and scaling telemetry. Equity awaits the right candidate, with on-site work required.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
• Hands-on experience shipping and operating production services in TypeScript or Python
• Comfort with queues, state machines, idempotency, retries and back-pressure
• Ability to work end-to-end from Vue 3 frontend to backend data
• Ability to trace outages to root cause via logs and metrics
• Willingness to work on-site in El Segundo and contribute to equity goals

Responsibilities

• Build typed services in TypeScript and Python with Express/FastAPI
• Model data in MongoDB including migrations and indexes
• Implement identity and access control via OAuth2/OpenID Connect
• Manage gateway, telemetry, and device connectivity workflows
• Orchestrate job state machines, retries, escalation and scheduling
• Develop customer Vue 3 frontend features and integrations
• Ensure observability, incident response, and CI/CD pipelines
• Maintain Kubernetes deployments and MCP tooling for agents
