Platform Systems Engineer

You will build, maintain, and optimize container platforms that support modern, scalable, and resilient applications across the organization.

In this role, you translate operational and application requirements into robust container platform architectures, ensuring reliability, security, and efficient automation throughout the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work with development and infrastructure teams to design and implement Kubernetes clusters, manage core components, and develop automation for deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management.
• Create and maintain CI/CD integrations, engineer containerized solutions, and optimize cluster performance and resource utilization.
• Support solution design efforts such as architecture documentation, configuration prototypes, and infrastructure‑as‑code patterns.
• Conduct testing, troubleshoot platform issues, and ensure that Kubernetes environments operate securely, consistently, and in alignment with organizational standards.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3+ years relevant experience with a master’s degree in a related field; 9+ years relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.

5+ years of hands‑on experience responsible for the end‑to‑end engineering, implementation, and optimization of enterprise‑grade container orchestration environments.

In‑depth experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or managed cloud K8s (EKS/AKS/GKE) with mastery in cluster lifecycle management, automated deployment via IaC (Terraform, Helm, Ansible), and engineering of robust observability and security frameworks.

Must meet DoD 8140 requirements or be willing to obtain a qualifying credential within six months.

TS/SCI clearance required with ability to obtain CI Poly.

Preferred Requirements

Cloud‑native formal training or vendor certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Associate, Google Professional Cloud Architect) and Kubernetes formal training or vendor certifications (Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Developer).
