BETA Technologies, Inc. in Vermont is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join our Development Platform team. You will build and maintain internal platform services that empower software engineers to move faster with guardrails, standards, and self-serve tooling.

Join a cross-functional group advancing the BETA OS project, enabling citizen developers, and improving IT/HelpDesk automation. Expect focus on REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and developer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IT or equivalent experience.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployment.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in professional projects.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud basics.
• Strong communication and collaboration across tech and non-tech teams.
• Curiosity-driven problem solver focused on improving developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Support citizen developers with docs, training, and guidance.
• Build self-serve internal platform services, APIs, and automation tooling.
• Contribute to BETA OS with release pipelines and standards.
• Develop tooling to improve IT & HelpDesk efficiency, including ticketing integrations.
• Promote platform standards across teams.
• Identify gaps and prototype improvements to reduce friction and boost velocity.
