Glocomms is partnering with a leading global trading and technology firm seeking a Platform Security Engineer to secure and improve endpoint infrastructure in a hybrid Chicago environment.

The role emphasizes protecting client platforms while maintaining performance and usability, requiring hands-on cybersecurity engineering and experience with EDR/XDR tools, scripting, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting endpoint platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Hands-on cybersecurity engineering and implementation.
• Familiarity with endpoint security tools (EDR/XDR, antivirus).
• Scripting or development in a high-level language.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Carbon Black.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management platforms (Qualys).
• Scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with SIEM or SOAR platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and optimize endpoint security tools
• Coordinate updates and upgrades for security platforms
• Partner with engineering teams to deploy and validate security solutions
• Evaluate new tools and technologies for fit and effectiveness
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks
• Monitor and measure effectiveness of security controls
• Drive automation and process improvements for security checks
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to investigate and remediate issues
