Job summary

Kelly Services in Waltham, MA is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead Platform Engineering, blending backend development, cloud infrastructure, and developer experience. This role focuses on cloud modernization, scalable internal platforms, and AI-powered tooling.

You will partner with engineering teams to drive platform adoption, define architecture, and deliver reliable backend services on Java and Kotlin in a hybrid work environment with three onsite days weekly.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience building backend applications with Java and/or Kotlin.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms and infrastructure.
• Background in platform engineering, developer productivity, or developer experience initiatives.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and software delivery best practices.
• Knowledge of modern cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and scalable distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, and operational excellence.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive adoption of new technologies across engineering teams.
