Job description

Being at the forefront of innovation is exciting and leading transformation in a large global organization is a role that many people aspire to. If this is you, we have a transformational role in our newly developed platform services organization.

Platform Engineering Lead is a hands‑on engineering leader responsible for end-to-end delivery of a MarTech platform or major component within a larger product line such as Coca‑Cola Consumer Data Platform (CDS) or global CIAM solution Global Access Management (GAM). Reporting to the Director, MarTech Product Development, this leader stays deeply technical, writing critical code in core services, frameworks and complex integrations during high‑risk or high‑visibility delivery moments, while leading a focused engineering team. The role brings AI‑native practices into how the team builds, secures and operates the platform, and treats developer velocity and production reliability.

What You’ll Do for Us:
  • Lead end to end delivery of a high-impact MarTech / AdTech platform or component (for example, a service within CDS or GAM) while remaining deeply hands on, writing critical code in core services, frameworks and complex integrations during high‑risk or high‑visibility moments.
  • Manage and grow a focused engineering team of 6 to 10 engineers across in house and strategic vendor talent, coaching for craftsmanship, accountability and continuous learning.
  • Translate architecture and product strategy into executable engineering plans: define milestones, sequence dependencies, manage technical risk, and ensure predictable delivery across globally distributed teams.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards and AI repository guardrails, ensuring AI-generated code is secure, maintainable, pattern‑compliant, and resilient against prompt injection, unsafe dependency usage and accidental data exposure.
  • Champion developer velocity as a strategic advantage: drive agentic and AI‑assisted development, automation, reusable templates, streamlined CI/CD, and paved‑road tooling that cut friction and cycle time.
  • Drive production excellence across global services: improve observability maturity, incident‑response readiness, root‑cause‑analysis discipline, and reliability practices (SRE/SLOs) that prevent repeat incidents.
  • Apply modern data and AI patterns where they add value, including vector search and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) for personalization, search and grounded AI features, plus AI cost discipline such as token‑overhead management and semantic caching.
  • Identify systemic bottlenecks in performance, reliability, cost and developer experience, and lead improvements that compound over time across the platform.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Security and cross functional stakeholders to align scope, sequencing and tradeoffs, maintaining high visibility on progress, risks and dependencies.
  • Serve as a role model for engineering leadership: clear technical communication, strong decision‑making, calm execution under pressure, and a consistent focus on customer and business outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record leading technical delivery for high‑traffic, production‑grade systems, including 2+ years leading or managing engineers. A builder at heart who stays close to the code.
  • Deep architecture expertise: event‑driven architectures, API‑first patterns, distributed‑systems reliability, and modern data platforms (SQL / NoSQL; vector search exposure preferred).
  • Strong DevOps & Infrastructure-as-Code mastery (Terraform / CDK), including release engineering, environment governance, CI/CD, and operational best practices.
  • AI‑enabled engineering (preferred): demonstrated ability to scale engineering productivity through automation and AI‑assisted / agentic workflows while maintaining strict security and quality boundaries, including AI repository guardrails and RAG / vector‑search patterns.
  • Team leadership: experience leading globally distributed teams, including a mix of in house and vendor talent, aligning them around standards, execution plans and delivery outcomes.
  • Communication: strong written and verbal communication, able to align stakeholders and explain technical tradeoffs to product, security and business partners.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field required. Equivalent combination of relevant education, training and demonstrated experience also considered.
What We’ll Do for You
  • Exposure to World‑Class Leaders: Availability to global technology leaders will expand your network and expose you to emerging technologies and techniques.
  • Global Connections: Allows you to develop, enhance and maintain global connections that allow us to move faster and learn from others.
  • Agile Work Environment: We embrace agile, with management that believes in removing barriers, so you are empowered to experiment, iterate, and innovate
