Reddit, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer to help scale Tier-0 infrastructure and build high-leverage platform services.

You will work on Go services and a monolith Python stack, delivering reliable, scalable software for Reddit’s core features. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of production software experience, strong backend language skills (Go/Python/C++/Java), and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, and AWS/GCP.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering in a production setting.
• BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages like Golang, Python, C++, Java.
• Experience with databases such as Cassandra, Postgres, Redis.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure like Kubernetes, gRPC, AWS/GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and deliver software (Go/Python) to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit’s products.
• Dive into Go services and the monolith Python legacy stack to understand end-to-end delivery.
• Make system-level improvements and implement complex code changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and solicit customer feedback.
• Share on-call responsibilities and support monitoring/alerting for reliability.
