Job summary

CAC I International Inc. in Hampton, VA is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise CDS platforms enabling secure data sharing across classified environments.

You will build intuitive software and infrastructure to support Air Force personnel nationwide, tackling complex challenges and driving DoD-compliant solutions. The role requires active TS/SCI, 5+ years in RHEL administration and VMware, and a DoD 8140 certification.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent; AA/AS plus experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in RHEL administration.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with VMware.
• Experience applying security patches to Linux systems.
• Current DoD 8140 cybersecurity certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
• Strong problem solving abilities and customer service orientation.
• Broad experience with system/server hardware, OS, software applications, and network connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and maintain enterprise CDS platforms for secure cross‑domain data transfer.
• Administer and configure UI applications and external services for CDS systems.
• Manage user accounts across supported environments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for platform health and performance.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure DoD compliance and accreditation.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and support end users.
• Automate deployment processes to improve efficiency.
• Document architectures, procedures, and workflows.
