Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a hands-on software engineer to own CacheHouse-like analytics platform end to end. You’ll define technical direction, design data models, and integrate with dashboards and researcher workflows.

You will guide engineers, ensure reliability, and translate complex research needs into durable platform components. You will work directly with researchers and engineers to understand goals, challenge proposed solutions, and drive production adoption.

Qualifications

• Experience with high performing programming languages (Rust or C++).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and performance considerations.
• Familiarity with analytics data, storage, and query execution.

Responsibilities

• Own critical analytics systems end to end across architecture, implementation, integration, deployment, monitoring, and adoption.
• Design, build, and operate ingestion, storage, retrieval, and query systems for research analytics.
• Build platforms for analyzing both structured metrics and unstructured research data including samples, traces, evaluation results, and model-behavior data.
