OVERVIEW
We are partnering with a reputable healthcare system to hire for The Developer & Employee Experience Team, enabling the client’s journey to the cloud. The Platform Engineer, Principal will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Engineering. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the Internal Developer Platform, enabling operational excellence for the client, their trading partners, and provider networks. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organization’s journey to the cloud.

- Duration: 6 months contract to hire
- Location: Remote, but must reside in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington. Preference for West Coast. Working hours will be PST.
- Rate: $65/hr to $90/hr DOE
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, deploy, and support the client’s provider-agnostic Cloud Enablement Developer Platform, actively contributing to future state goals and ensuring operational excellence.
- Help establish, operate, and improve within a GitOps framework, leveraging expertise to accelerate capabilities across the organization.
- Design, develop, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Ansible to automate Azure cloud environments, including VMs, networking, storage, and other services.
- Prepare and maintain detailed system diagrams and technical documentation to ensure quality in operations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate IaC practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business and IT units to determine design, application, and integration of information systems.
- Guide and assist users, developers, analysts, and leaders in leveraging the platform’s capabilities.
- Contribute as a thought leader to the success of the cloud journey.
- Ensure compliance and security of data and assets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience as a technical expert in enterprise platform development and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience managing cloud environments in regulated, DevOps settings.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud providers, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Experience implementing IaC solutions with Ansible for Azure environments.
- Current AZ-400 and AZ-900 Certifications or equivalent.
- Current RedHat DO-374 and/or DO-414 Certifications or equivalent.
- Kubernetes experience is strongly desired.
- Additional cloud provider certifications are a plus.
- Experience in agile development and remote work is strongly desired.
