Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Platform Engineer to design, implement and maintain specialized developer platforms, automate infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and ensure security across high‑performance computing products.

You will build and manage Linux systems (on‑prem and cloud), collaborate with engineers, and develop tooling using Bash, Python and Ansible, plus deploy containerized apps in Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of hands-on Linux system administration experience.
• At least 1 year of Kubernetes experience.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Experience with installation and implementation of hardware, software and networking equipment.
• Familiarity with hardware vendors and cloud providers (e.g., HP/Dell; AWS/Azure).
• Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills.
• Active TS with SCI eligibility; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ CE within the first 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage Linux systems (on-premise and cloud infrastructure).
• Provide hardware and software support for users, customers and personnel.
• Collaborate with engineers to design, implement and test features for Knack Works’ HPC products.
• Develop and maintain system documentation.
• Automate infrastructure tasks using tools such as Ansible, Python or Bash.
• Deploy, upgrade and manage containerized applications in Kubernetes.
• Build containerized applications, Helm charts, and test deployments in Dev/Test clusters.
• Follow change management and implementation best practices.
• Coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities with security teams.
