Bitwise seeks a senior Platform Engineer to lead scalable infrastructure and AI-driven workflows within the Platform Team in Columbia, MD. You will design complex systems, drive agentic AI workflows, and deploy large-scale AWS infrastructure using Terraform while mentoring teammates and ensuring security and compliance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a B.S. in a technical discipline, or 16+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Rancher at an architectural and organizational level
• Advanced Python development skills for both application and systems engineering
• Moderate to high experience with Linux development and deep troubleshooting in Linux workspaces
• Advanced Git workflows and enterprise-scale CI/CD architecture knowledge
• System design expertise and the ability to lead technical initiatives with high autonomy
• Demonstrated ability to use AI to design, create, and implement robust and complex software and architecture
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch for complex data indexing and searching
• Experience with AWS architecture design or relevant certifications
• Knowledge of certificate management at high scale
• Experience in creating and managing networking interface architecture

Responsibilities

• Design complex systems and architecture improvements to support mission goals and optimize infrastructure components
• Lead the development of agentic AI workflows, including the management of our internal marketplace and plugin ecosystem
• Utilize Terraform to architect and deploy large-scale, government-aligned AWS infrastructure
• Create automated triage systems that span the entire lifecycle from metric discovery to automated code analysis
• Partner with multiple external teams to decipher complex outcomes and maintain high-level professional relationships
• Develop high-performance Python applications that facilitate agentic data processing and advanced AI integration
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership, ensuring our systems remain secure and compliant
