Job summary

A technology services company is seeking a Mid-Senior level IT professional in Charlotte, NC for contract work focused on server migrations. Responsibilities include Windows and Linux server administration, OS-level configurations, and automation scripting. The ideal candidate has experience with ITSM tools and a strong background in server transitions. Knowledge of cloud platforms and security compliance is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in migration planning, execution, and support for Windows and Linux servers.
• Perform OS-level configuration, application deployment, and release tasks across environments.
• Work with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) to manage incident, change, and service requests.
• Maintain and update system documentation, runbooks, and configuration inventories.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and SSH.
• Perform pre- and post-migration system validation, troubleshooting, and rollback handling.
• Collaborate with network, application, and cloud teams to ensure smooth server transitions.
• Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and governance policies during migrations.
