Job summary

Encore Talent Solutions is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to lead the architectural hardening and enterprise integration of Dataiku within a modern cloud data platform using Snowflake, DBT, and AWS. You will collaborate with data engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data solutions for analytics, governance, and self-service data capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong proficiency with Dataiku DSS, Python, SQL, Linux/Unix.
  • Experience developing and supporting enterprise data platforms and data engineering solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Data governance, Data quality management, Metadata management, Secure software development, Production deployment practices.
  • Experience building automation, integrations, and reusable engineering solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Dataiku project standards that serve as a production readiness framework, ensuring governance and security compliance.
  • Develop custom Dataiku plugins, APIs, and automation to enforce data quality validations prior to production.
  • Build automated quality gates that prevent promotion of projects failing governance and quality standards.
  • Partner with Information Security to integrate Fortanix tokenization and encryption into Dataiku workflows.
  • Design enterprise promotion pathways and refactor workloads into DBT where appropriate.
  • Integrate Dataiku with Snowflake and AWS services; enable enterprise data exchange and APIs.
  • Develop automation to improve platform reliability, deployment consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot platform, integration, and data pipeline issues; implement long-term improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Promote best practices related to data governance, DevOps, automation, and security.

Job Description

We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in leading the architectural hardening and enterprise integration of Dataiku within a modern cloud data platform utilizing Snowflake, DBT, and AWS. You will collaborate with data engineers, platform engineers, information security, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to develop secure, scalable, and production-ready data solutions that enable enterprise analytics, governance, and self-service data capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Dataiku project standards that serve as a production readiness framework, ensuring consistent naming conventions, metadata management, governance, and security compliance.
  • Develop custom Dataiku plugins, APIs, and automation to enforce Tier 1 and Tier 2 data quality validations prior to production deployment.
  • Build automated quality gates that prevent promotion of projects that fail enterprise data governance and quality standards.
  • Partner with Information Security teams to integrate Fortanix tokenization, field-level encryption, and secure data handling into Dataiku visual recipes and Python workflows.
  • Design and maintain enterprise promotion pathways that transition ad hoc Dataiku prototypes into production-ready solutions and refactor workloads into DBT where appropriate.
  • Integrate Dataiku operational monitoring with ServiceNow to automate incident creation for pipeline failures, operational issues, and data quality drift.
  • Serve as the technical steward for business users by developing approved templates, reusable workflows, and secure data products within the enterprise Data Exchange.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate Dataiku with Snowflake, AWS services, GitHub, and enterprise APIs.
  • Develop automation and scripting solutions that improve platform reliability, deployment consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot platform, integration, and data pipeline issues while implementing long-term improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, platform standards, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Promote best practices related to data governance, DevOps, automation, platform security, and enterprise data engineering.

  • Location: Onsite – Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Travel: Minimal, as required
