Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an expert DevOps engineer to design, build, secure, and scale containerized workloads across Kubernetes, OpenShift, GCP, and other cloud platforms. You will ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and security of enterprise container platforms supporting critical production applications.

The role is contract-based in Dallas, TX with a hybrid work model. You will design images, manage registries, deploy and operate clusters, implement runtime security and policy

Qualifications

• Expert level in designing and running containerized workloads at scale.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift (OCP) and cloud platforms.
• Strong focus on security and performance of production workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Docker container images using best practices.
• Maintain, version, and manage container images in registries.
• Ensure portability across dev, staging, and production environments.
• Deploy and scale apps within Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters.
• Configure Kubernetes resources (Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, Ingress).
• Monitor cluster health, performance, and reliability; resolve issues.
• Enforce secure containerization and least-privilege access.
• Use container security tools for image scanning and compliance.
• Implement runtime security and policy frameworks (RBAC, non-root).
• Apply Kyverno/OPA-Gatekeeper or similar policies.
• Ensure compliance with security standards.
• Collaborate with development, infra, and security teams.
