Thinking Machines in San Francisco is looking for a software engineer to manage platform systems for Tinker, focusing on billing, access control, and audit logging.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, experience in backend programming with Python or Rust, and is skilled in cross-functional collaboration. The position offers a competitive salary range of $350,000 - $475,000 and various benefits such as health and dental coverage, unlimited PTO, and visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or similar.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (we use Python or Rust).
• Experience with billing/payments infrastructure or identity and access control.
• Thrive in a highly collaborative environment involving different teams.
• A bias for action with a mindset to take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Design the authorization layer across all products.
• Own billing infrastructure end to end.
• Build and evolve the organizations and teams model.
• Implement data export and deletion pipelines.
• Build audit logging for visibility.
