Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level platform engineering support for DFAS CCE NIPRNet enclave.
• Process Tier 3 DFASNow tickets with 95% priority compliance.
• Support CCE Change Control Board inputs at 95% on-time.
• Lead technology planning and develop a 5-year road map.
• Engineer solutions for cloud moves to DoD certified cloud/hybrid environments.
• Evaluate infrastructure for cost reduction and service improvement.
• Reengineer infrastructure to meet zero trust architecture protocols.
• Conduct tuning activities achieving 90% on-schedule compliance.
• Ensure IPv6 processing achieves 100% validation compliance.

Overview of position:

We are looking for a Platform Engineer/Architect, SME to provide senior-level platform engineering, infrastructure modernization, and Tier 3 technical support for the DFAS Common Computing Environment (CCE) NIPRNet unclassified enclave. This role focuses on cloud migration, hybrid infrastructure, Zero Trust architecture, technology planning, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.

An active Secret security clearance and a United States Citizenship is required to be considered for this position. Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level platform engineering support for DFAS CCE NIPRNet unclassified enclave
• Process CCE priority Tier 3 DFASNow support tickets achieving 95% worked-by-priority compliance
• Support CCE Change Control Board (CCB) with 95% on-time inputs
• Lead technology planning and develop ITI 5-Year Roadmap & Architecture (due 60 days after award, then annually)
• Engineer solutions for CCE movement to DoD certified cloud solutions and hybrid environments
• Evaluate CCE infrastructure for cost reduction, service improvement, and capability enhancement
• Reengineer CCE infrastructure to meet next generation architecture protocols and Zero Trust Network Architecture
• Conduct tuning activities achieving 90% on-schedule compliance
• Support IPv6 processing achieving 100% validation compliance

Experience/Skills:

• 10+ years enterprise systems architecture experience
• Expert-level Windows Server administration (AZ801-802 certification)
• Expert-level security architecture (CISSP certification)
• Experience with NIPRNet unclassified network environments
• Proficiency in: SQL, SCOM, MECM, Virtualization (VMware/Nutanix), Directory Services
• Experience with Azure cloud migration and hybrid environments
• Knowledge of IPv6 implementation and transition
• Experience developing technology roadmaps and architecture documentation
• Demonstrated Zero Trust Network Architecture implementation experience

Preferred Qualification:

• Azure Solutions Architect certification
• VMware VCP or equivalent virtualization certification
• Experience with DFAS financial systems infrastructure
• Prior DoD cloud migration experience
• FedRAMP/FISMA compliance experience
• Knowledge of DISA STIGs and security hardening
• Experience with emerging technologies (AI/ML, automation)

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

Certifications:

• CISSP or equivalent

Clearance:

• Active Secret security clearance is required.
• Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check.
• Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
