Job summary

Bright Machines is pursuing a Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure infrastructure powering AI-enabled manufacturing solutions. You will work with Platform Engineering, R&D, and Operations to shape the core platform, with a stack spanning on-prem networks, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and cloud providers.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, observability, and secure deployments while driving developer experience tooling and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

5+ years of Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience.
Strong experience with physical infrastructure, including networking gear and servers.
Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible.
Kubernetes expertise, including Helm.
Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
Hands-on Python and Shell scripting.
Understanding Linux internals and system administration.
Experience with IaC and GitOps workflows.
Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
Knowledge of bare-metal provisioning (MaaS or similar).

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure for applications and automation systems.
Own and improve platform engineering tools and services, including documentation.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment pipelines.
Manage CI/CD systems to enable reliable software delivery.
Implement and operate observability (logging, monitoring, alerting).
Enforce security best practices including vulnerability management and incident response.
Participate in on-call rotation for Platform Engineering services.
