Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as platform/cloud/DevOps/infrastructure or systems engineer.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
• Hands-on Kubernetes administration in production environments.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Scripting: Bash and/or Python/Go or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD systems and modern delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve core cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
• Design, administer, and continuously improve Kubernetes clusters and supporting services.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation for repeatable deployments.
• Partner with development teams to support application releases, deployments, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD capabilities and deployment tooling to improve speed and reliability of software delivery.

• Establish and maintain standards for reliability, security, scalability, observability, and performance.
• Monitor platform health and participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Automate operational processes and eliminate manual tasks.
• Collaborate with application teams to identify platform improvements and reusable solutions.
• Contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis, and platform reliability improvements.
• Evaluate new cloud/Kubernetes technologies and recommend value-added solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and platform standards.

Salary Range: $115,000.00 To $145,000.00 Annually

As a Platform Engineer at Amano-McGann, you will build, operate, and continuously improve the core technology platform that enables our development teams to deliver applications reliably and efficiently.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, managing Kubernetes environments, supporting application releases, and developing the core and shared services that underpin our applications. You will work closely with software engineers, security, and other technical teams to provide scalable, secure, resilient, and easy-to-use platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, automating repetitive work, improving developer experience, and building reliable systems that other engineering teams can depend on.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve core cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
• Design, administer, and continuously improve Kubernetes clusters and supporting services.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation to enable consistent, repeatable deployments.
• Partner with development teams to support application releases, deployments, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD capabilities and deployment tooling that improve the speed and reliability of software delivery.
• Develop, operate, and support core and shared application services used across the organization.
• Establish and maintain standards for infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, observability, and performance.
• Monitor platform health and participate in troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and application issues.
• Automate operational processes and eliminate manual or repetitive tasks.
• Collaborate with application teams to identify platform improvements and provide reusable solutions rather than one-off implementations.
• Contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of platform reliability.
• Evaluate new cloud, Kubernetes, and platform technologies and recommend solutions that provide meaningful business and engineering value.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and platform standards.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working as a platform, cloud, DevOps, infrastructure, or systems engineer.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure and services, preferably in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Hands-on experience administering and supporting Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).
• Proficiency with scripting languages like Bash and/or programming languages such as Python, Go, or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD systems and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong understanding of networking, identity and access management, security, compute, storage, and cloud architecture.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues across multiple layers of a technology stack.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with software development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure.
• Experience with Helm, Argo CD, GitOps, or similar Kubernetes ecosystem technologies.
• Experience developing shared services, APIs, service infrastructure, or other reusable platform capabilities.
• Familiarity with containerization tools.
• Experience with cloud networking, service meshes, secrets management, and security tooling.
• Experience implementing highly available and resilient production systems.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Familiarity with SRE principles and practices.
• Experience establishing platform standards, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices.
