Job summary

Wyetech is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to advance our AWS-based infrastructure, containerized workloads, and automation efforts. You will work in a hybrid role, collaborating with architects to design scalable cloud solutions and integrate open‑source components.

The ideal candidate has strong Python or Go skills, a solid Linux foundation, and the ability to travel quarterly to San Antonio while spending 1–2 days weekly at our Columbia, MD office, supporting federal government projects.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance; current clearance not required on day 1.
• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of experience, or 3 years with a Master's; or HS diploma with 9 years relevant experience.
• Willing to travel to San Antonio, TX about 3-4 days every three months.
• Hybrid work environment; 1–2 days per week in Columbia, MD office.
• Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container tooling (Docker/Podman, Helm, Kustomize, Flux CD).
• Solid Linux systems, networks, security, and shell scripting.

Job description

• We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer with experience in Cloud technology (AWS), programming skills in languages like Python or Go, and a strong Linux foundation.
• Will significantly contribute to the development of custom software components and integration of open‑source code to address complex problems through the use of cutting‑edge Big Data / Cloud technology.
• The candidate will be expected to work autonomously identifying and solving problems quickly while working toward broader strategic goals set by Architects on the team.
• Work is performed in a hybrid role on a regular basis.
• Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Requirements

• Security Clearance - A current U.S. Government Security clearance is not required on day 1, but will be processed for one; U.S. citizenship required. Can also consider candidates with current Secret or TS level clearance.
• 5+ years of experience with Bachelors in related field; OR 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Must be willing to travel to San Antonio, TX on average 3-4 days every three months.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.
• Must have experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes (or vendor flavor of Kubernetes), including cluster administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with container (Docker/Podman) build tooling, Kubernetes automation tools (e.g. Helm, Kustomize, Flux CD, etc.)
• Have a solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications and proficiency in shell scripting (Shell/Bash).

Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in Cloud Technology, particularly AWS, with strong programming skills in Python or Go. Proficient in Linux systems and container orchestration using Kubernetes, with a focus on developing and deploying infrastructure solutions.
