Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Software Integration Engineer to manage the Platform-as-a-Service component of the CASA Compute Environment. Responsibilities include ensuring platform reliability, security compliance, and optimal performance of Kubernetes clusters.

The ideal candidate should have 8 years of demonstrable software integration experience, strong skills in Linux CLI, and familiarity with containerization using Docker or Podman. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred, or equivalent experience.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $220,000 to $230,000 along with excellent benefits including paid time off and employer-matched 401(k).

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience with COTS/GOTS software integration.
• Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads.
• Experience in a DevOps environment using Agile.

Basic Requirements

• 8 years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  5 additional years of experience as a software engineer may be substituted for a degree

Job Description

• The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE).
• The CCE provides secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, and highly available Kubernetes clusters operating within a Linux-based infrastructure.
• Tasking shall ensure platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance in support of mission and application requirements.

Required Experience

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman
• Demonstrated experience administrating and monitoring Kubernetes clusters
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Kubernetes workloads (ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.)
• Experience with IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible
• Experience writing, deploying, and maintaining Helm Charts
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus /Grafana
• Experience using Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

Desired Experience

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies
• Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.)
• CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator)

Salary: $220,000 - $230,000 annually
