Job summary

Synergy ECP is looking for a Full-time Platform Engineer at Level 1 to provide crucial systems administration support for enterprise services offered to the U.S. government. The ideal candidate will have five years of experience in Platform Engineering and possess a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a related field. Responsibilities include software scripting, troubleshooting, and maintaining highly available operating systems and applications.

The position demands experience with Linux, Unix, Windows, and messaging services, as well as the ability to write Ansible playbooks and run security scans on systems. This role requires holding TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Position Summary

Full‑time Platform Engineer – Level 1 – TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required. The role provides hardware, operating system and system administration support for highly available enterprise services offered to the U.S. government. Responsibilities include software scripting, installation, provisioning, configuration, design and implementation of hardware and systems, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, testing, and support of deployed and campus‑based data centers. The engineer will create and maintain virtual machines, build and install software packages, and write scripts for system testing, monitoring, and repair, ensuring operating systems and applications are patched and compliant with security status.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ experience as a Platform Engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field; four (4) years of additional Platform Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree

Additional Position‑Specific Requirements

• Ability to write Ansible playbooks
• Three (3) years’ experience supporting and installing Linux, Unix, Windows, or Cisco OS operating systems
• One (1) year experience configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and testing a messaging service (e.g., JMS, TIBCO, ActiveMQ, Artemis, Kafka)
• One (1) year experience configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and testing a messaging system (e.g., JMS, TIBCO, ActiveMQ, Artemis, Kafka)

Desired Qualifications

• One (1) year experience using configuration management tools (e.g., GIT, Confluence, Redmine) for document and software repositories and building software
• Two (2) years’ experience configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and testing TIBCO EMS or ActiveMQ messaging
• Ability to run security scans on systems (e.g., Nessus)
• Ability to provide documentation for security accreditation
• CWIP IAT Level II Certification and CWIP IA Baseline Certification
